"I-isn’t it a little bit late…?" Rhyme mumbled in reply, pushing the other away and pulling her hat down. Instinctively, a hand fluttered up to her ear, not used to such an ‘intimate’ touch. "But Beat did get me something nice. How about you? Did you get any presents?"

“A few years back I was working on a case called the ‘Kira case’.  Kira was a murderer who killed using a notebook that was dropped by a Shinigami in this world.  Initially it appeared that criminals were dying of heart attacks, however as the body count grew larger all from the same cause of death I realized that this was more serious than simple heart attacks.  Upon further investigation, I acquired a Death Note and before testing it, my care taker, Watari, was murdered and a few moments later, I too was murdered.  I suffered a heart attack and died.”  Saying Watari’s name was painful, it wasn’t fair that Watari died, he never deserved it.

"Oh, wow… So, did you die as a result of the Death Note?" It was a scary prospect; how a notebook could cause so much damage.

"Wait. A shinigami…." She’d met one just recently. Were they perhaps—? No. No, that was silly. There were plenty around, she was sure.

“It’s best to be careful around here. The Game is like a ticking time bomb of sorts…”

Rhyme thought for a moment. Am I doing anything today? But she was dead, and there wasn’t an awful lot she could do. “No, I’m free today. I’d be happy to help!” She would’ve helped, anyway; an unprotected Player couldn’t last long in the Game, and Rhyme wasn’t particularly keen on more Players getting Erased.

“A ticking time bomb? How is that possible? Unless you mean the seven weeks…”

Hibiku sighed, scratching the back of her neck in thought before smiling. If it was only seven days, she could survive, right? As long as no one annoyed her.

“Really? Yaaaay!”, she responded to Rhyme’s answer. She was glad, she wouldn’t be alone today. That, and if they were lucky, they’d find another unpacted Player. Then she wouldn’t have to run from Noise anymore.

“So…Uhm…Where to start?”

"That, and if a Reaper approaches you… or even the Composer…. it’s best to run."

"We could start by the Statue of Hachiko, if you’d like to go there first?"

“No, you wouldn’t be of any danger to me.” he said his voice monotone “As for getting your life back, the possibility is rather high, I have been to the relm of the dead and back”

“Yes… if I win the Game. The way the Composer’s set our current Game makes winning a little difficult, though…” Still, she would find a way, somehow. She refused to be trapped in the Game forever.

“You’ve died before?”

“Yes, once before,” he said his voice trailing thinking about how his death came as such a surprise to him at the time

"How… how did you die?"

“…They’re not the kind of games you’d expect. They’re dangerous.” Rhyme recollected the one she’d had with Joshua a few weeks ago — Russian Roulette. She had no way out of that one, and when she refused to shoot, he instead shot her, with little to no hesitation. “Hopefully! There should be more Players around here somewhere. Would you like me to help you look for one?”

“Really? Maybe that wouldn’t be fun, then” Hibiku had sweatdropped at that. She never expected the Composer to be into dangerous games. Then again, he did supposedly make this one. So, she kind of felt stupid for not expecting that kind of answer. However, she smiled again at her proposition. “That would be very nice! But only if you don’t have anything else to do. I don’t want to be rude” She was happy Rhyme had offered to help. The pinkette wasn’t so sure she could find other Players on her own.
